About St Petronella Health Care Initiative
St Petronella Health Care Initiative (PHCI) is a registered private, not-for-profit community-based organization in Uganda. PHCI operates in Mukono Municipality, Mukono District, with its community base in Lweza Village.
The organization commenced operations in 2025 with the goal of contributing to improved health, wellbeing, dignity and productivity among underserved and vulnerable populations. PHCI works at the intersection of community health, disease prevention, mental health, rehabilitation, health systems strengthening and WASH.

A healthy, resilient and productive community where every person can access essential health services, live in a safe and dignified environment, and reach their full potential.
Our Mission
To create an enabling environment within communities that promotes health, prevents disease, strengthens access to appropriate treatment and referral services, improves mental wellbeing, and advances safe water, sanitation and hygiene practices.
Our Purpose
PHCI exists to reduce preventable illness, disability and mortality by bringing health promotion, disease prevention, early identification, referral, treatment support, rehabilitation and WASH interventions closer to underserved communities.
A community-based approach
PHCI works through communities rather than simply working for communities.

Community Engagement
We involve community leaders, VHTs, CHEWs, women, youth, persons with disabilities, schools, religious institutions, health facilities, local authorities and community groups.
